ICYMI: Senator Tom Harkin (IA) convened a hearing of the Senate HELP Cmte yesterday to listen to “expert” opinion about the state of tobacco control in the US and what regulators plan to do about it. Sen. Harkin also made a point of exposing just how in the dark he is about the products he’s seeking to outlaw and the community of recovering smokers his actions would affect.
On the other hand, Senators Burr (NC) and Alexander (TN) actually made the effort to ask thoughtful questions as well as provide valuable perspective on the potential of #HarmReduction.
